Guest guest
Hi All! It has been a very long time since I posted anything. I am post-op from December 21, 2002. It was the best Christmas present ever! I am down 104# from a whopping 320#. Don't really know how much more I want to lose but I am still working on it. My surgeon in Myrtle Beach,SC refers to me as his poster child. It's a great compliment to me. As a result of my success and continued commitment, he has offered me a position in his practice to work with bariatric patients exclusively as a coordinator. Not only is this a career change, but it's my chance to help others toward their dreams too! My question to the groups are...what if anything would you add or change about the programs or procedures (anything at all)you had to undertake? Would you have considered participating in a complete program from primary care to nutrition to pre & post-op counseling to an exercise program and follow-up care if the surgeon offered all of these in house? Were there special insurance requirements that you had to meet prior to surgery? If so, did you surgeon or PCP refer you or did you have to seek these out? You can respond to the group or if you would prefer to e-mail me privately you may do so at flhjohnson@a... I will not disclose any private e-mail. But your responses will help tremendously to establish this program and hopefully make the surgery easier and more accessible. Thanks for all of your input.
