125 at 5'5 " sounds extremely low to me, too. I am 5'9 " . Anything

under 200 will be great with me. The charts say 174 is normal high

end. Personally I would be thrilled to be 190.

I have no desire to be so thin that my body is at an unatural state

and I have to fight to maintain and obsess over every pound. I agree

with you that we realistically will not get down to a " normies "

weight, given all the fat cells we have from yo-yo dieting.

Personally, I think the scale is a very poor indicator of health and,

AT MOST, is only one of many indicators. Blood pressure, resting

heart rate, physical fitness and strength, aerobic capacity, a

positive mental state and a feeling of well being are all necessary

for me to be healthy.

In some ways, even at 246, I am more healthy than many of my thinner

counterparts.

My blood pressure is 110/70 (used to be 130/90), resting heart rate

is 63 (before 80+), my endurance is increasing and, most importantly

I am regaining my self esteem, am no longer depressed and have this

funny feeling...what could it be? Could I possiblt be happy with

myself and life, even at close to 250? You betcha!

Well, that's what I think and I'm sticking to it!!!

Smiles,

Vicki A.
