Guest guest
Hi Friends, I haven't posted to the group much lately, but I've been reading and keeping up with you all. My father died very unexpectedly yesterday afternoon after a very courageous 1.5 year battle with MSA. I am so happy that he is no longer suffering. MSA had stolen everything from him. He declined so rapidly. I am also very saddened to have lost my Daddy. He was my best friend. I just had a little girl six weeks ago and he was so proud to finally have a granddaughter. He love my three sons dearly, but had always wanted a little girl, too. It breaks my heart that he only got to hold her a few times and that she'll never know the wonderful man he was. My boys will miss him so much, too. I'm very confused about how he died. He wasn't feeling well at all yesterday morning...so bad, in fact, that my mother was going to take him to the doctor in the afternoon. He wanted to go lie down and rest. When he stood up from his w/c, he fell onto the bed. Within a minute, he was making " aspirating " sounds. By the time help arrived (w/i 3 minutes), they couldn't get air into his lungs b/c of the fluid. Is this aspiration? What could cause it? Did the fall on the bed cause it or did him aspirating cause him to fall? How could he go from being " ok " (in relative terms) to just dying like that? I suppose it doesn't matter, but I just want answers. He didn't want a full autopsy, although his brain tissue is being donated to Mayo. This group has been so helpful to me. Thank you. in OK __________________________________________________
