Hello! I hope that you dont mind me posting here but im really

interested in people that have had rny that have been out a year or

more from surgery.I am 5'5 and weigh 245.Im planning on having open

rny with Dr.Cauruna in Buffalo NY. Im doing my best to quit smoking

but for some reason its harder to quit then it was to start but ill

do it. Im 27 and most of my fat is in my butt and upper thighs,my

tummy isnt to bad its a little saggy but workable.Im concerned about

the scar from rny,I get horrible keloid scars and im curious as to

what has helped those of you with this problem.I also would like to

know how long after surgery you were able to exercise...not that im a

big exercise buff but I would like to try water aerobics. Also

eating, giving up sugar isnt going to totally kill me because im not a

big sugar person as it is but cereal...can you eat cereal as long as

you dont drink the milk after? How many of you have had to have

revisions or problems after surgery? I dont do well with surgery in

general! Had my gullbladder out and thought I was going to die from

the pain after...my fault though I found out it was bad when I was 7

months pregnant and waited until she was a month old before I had

surgery.

Any advise that you could give would be appreciated.

This is not the list to be asking these questions. It clearly states on the

homepage, and in the introductory letter to NOT post until you are a year

out. Why would you think we write that in the introduction and in the

introductory letter if we " didn't mind? " ???

I wish you all the best with your surgery. Go to the main OSSG group and

ask questions there, or ask your doctor for suggestions on former patients

who you can email privately. My doctor's monthly support group has many

people who are over a year out.

All this information can be found on other lists... or you can

investigate archives. We've been through this recently, having pre-ops

and newbies post to a list that is supposed to be for +1-year post-ops.

None of us would mind private emails, but please respect the list

rules.
