Guest guest
Hi, One of the things I have heard called is " arrested development. " From what I understand, we may (or probably) stopped our emotional development at a certain point as we hid behind our illness (excessive weight, abuse, etc.) So when we lose the weight (begin recovery) we have to go back to the last emotional stage of development that we needed to go through but didn't because of whatever shut us down (weight, abuse, etc.) So when we get healthy and ready, our emotions/selves try to get us back on track. In other words, its a typical stage. Anybody with better psychological background want to jump in? J.J.
