Guest guest
Well, when I joined a couple of days ago I caught all the posts about Vioxx. I immediatley stopped taking it. First off, you should never stop taking a medication that you've been on long term without consulting your doctors. If you have had no ill effects from the Vioxx and you've been taking it as prescribed with your other medications then why stop until you speak with your physicians. This is very important. Personally, I had a bad experience with it and so have some other people. I was recently put on it due to phlebitis in my arm and was instructed to take it for three days with my Nexium and Librax. Had no problems with it whatsoever. We're all different and all of our " pouches " tolerate things differently. I can't eat roasted chicken, pork or a london broil, but can tolerate a chicken cutlet, porter house steak and filet mignon. While others on this list can eat everything that I just listed with virtually no ill effects. Yes, Vioxx and Celebrex have been proven to be as caustic as Ibuprofen and aspirin to us and to people who haven't had wls. However, there are a lot of us who do take these medications and do fine. Bottom line, consult your doctor before stopping any meds you're taking, especially one you've been taking long term. Hope you feel better.
