Guest guest
Hey Gang, I'm attempting to gather some ideas / thoughts / theory's / on how the " out of control " eating goes on... so, I'm going to share and ask for feedback about what y'all think. 1.) I tend to think about food when I am in an eating area (kitchen, dining room, living room) but, if I'm in a place I don't eat (bed room) then I don't think about food. So, if I'm obsessing about food, grab a " curl up book " and go to my room for quiet time and a read... gardening my hands are dirty so I can't eat... cleaning out my closet, drawers or painting on canvas my hands are busy or I'm in an inappropriate place to eat.... go for a leisure walk. (please feel free to add your ideas here) 2.) Today I obsessed about a bag of cookies on the counter -- so, in my mind I built up the whole " how great that chocolate chip cookie must taste... " For about 2 hours I just yummed out in my head how great the cookie must be..... finally, I took one, bite and was able to spit it out, throw out the cookie -- it just did NOT taste like I had imagined 3.) I've been " night feeding " lately -- really wanting food after my little one is in bed, the day has " de-stressed " and I'm ready to dig into some FOOD!!! To " ready " myself, I prepare a " food " and have it in the fridge, ready to zap in the microwave and eat. Now this sounds like a lot of work (and I'm lazy) so I get a lean quezine (sp?) take out the meat portion (Salisbury steak, meat loaf, whatever) put it on a plate so IF I'm going to " night feed " then I'm going to eat what I " planned " to eat PLUS I have to get out of bed, sit at the breakfast table and eat that (I was eating a grilled cheese in bed and gaining weight steadily.) SO, no food is allowed in bed except SF popsicles and if I want to " night feed " I have to: Get out of bed, zap it, sit at the table, eat it and only eat what I have " planned for " in advance... OR I can have a shake in bed if I just don't want to go through all the above for something that doesn't taste nearly as good. 4.) This one I haven't gotten worked out at all so suggestions are SO welcome -- hot tea or hot coffee " break " I want something to eat with my tea/coffee -- obviously, anything I eat with a drink is going to wash right through but the only things that come to mind are like " coffee cake " stuff and that is SO NOT going to happen -- yet, I want that chew thing going on and I want to pay no calorie costs for it... LOL.... (yeah, I want to win the lotto too!!!) Any idea's for that one? (the coffee break, not the lotto...) 5.) I've started putting all my " portioned food " into my small containers so I have a " grip " on how much is the right amount -- plus I put the " timer " back on myself to be sure and eat a little and often enough to not get HUNGRY... but to stay " steady " Any other ideas? hugz, ~denise
