Guest guest
Hello, I have actually been lurking here for about 6 months, but I can now post. My one year anniversary was October 4th. Let me introduce myself, my name is Donna, I had Lap RNY with Dr. Dennis in Marietta, Georgia on October 4, 2001. I can honestly say wls has changed my life for the best. Before surgery I weighed 276, I now weigh 151, that is 125 pound loss! I wore size 26 (tight), now wear a size 8 pants and small/medium tops, my shoe size went from a 9 1/2 wide to a 8 1/2 regular! I have alread met doctor 's goal which was to loose 100 pounds. I did that in my first 6 months. By his calculations I have to date lost 91% of my excess weight. The actual goal for surgery is 70-75% to loose. I have two beautiful boys ages 12 and 2. I have been married to my wonderful supporting hubby for 13 years. All my family members have been totally supportive during this wls process. I couldn't be happier. I am still so amazed at the difference in my life now. I became morbidly obese after having my first son. Before that the biggest I ever got was about 200, that was after my very first pregnancy and miscarriage. I always maintained a weight of 145 pounds, which was a good size for me. Now I am at 151 and would love to be 140-145 if the scales will allow, if not I'm ok with that too! I have enjoyed reading everyone's post here and look forward to posting myself now. Hugs Donna preop: 276 size 26 postop: 151 size
Guest guest
If you are wanting to wait one year just to make sure the baby will get what it needs then 1 year is plenty of time. If you want to lose all your weight first then wait unti goal, but you don't have to. I am on another group where there are many prego moms who did not even wait the full year and have had healthy pregnancies and babies. The decision is really your personal choice. you have lost a great amount of weight so Congratulations on that. you must feel awesome. Do whatever feels right for you. If you are worried about not losing the rest or losing it slower than weight. If it really doesn't matter than try for that little baby as soonas you want to. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do. God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!!
