But the term is also used when someone loses too much or too little weight and has the bypass part of the surgery revised. If you are losing too much it can be life threatening and the connection is " undone " so you stop losing weight. If you aren't losing enough, it is just disappointing and can be readjusted to bypass more intestine. The first one for additional wl is coming up soon. DOn't know any details. The intestine changes sizes for one day to the next. So it is difficult to get an exact measurement. What is 6ft one day may not be the next. Dr. R can explain it to you much better, but that is the basic jest of it. Hope this helps. Safe journey, MGB 03 MAY 00 Safely on the other side!!!! Guest guest
Hi Carol Welcome and congratulations on such a great success in your first year. I've been on this group since before my most recent surgery (my 3d and FINAL WLS). I can't wait to get to the one year mark this time because it's actually working! After two failures I was sure this would be more of the same but thanks to Dr. Kane Jr. (same group as Carol's) I've got a whole new life. 4.5 mos out and I'm down 85 lbs. I can walk, shop, sit in chairs with arms (most of them, anyway) and do so many things I couldn't before. I don't find the sf syrups cause carb craving but " white " carbs are fatal to my eating habits. I recently upped my water intake and protein drinks and as a result my food intake has gone down more. Works for me! Continued good luck.
