Hi,

My name is Cheri' . I've posted once before, but it hasn't come

through yet, so if it does, please forgive the redundancy. Also, I

haven't gone back and read many of the posts, so if I'm repeating

something, once again, forgive me =-)

I had a Roux-en-Y 4 years ago, and lost 100 lbs. I have a problem

with being anemic. So I take mega doses of iron, at my Dr's request.

He told me not to take calcium and iron together, as it negates the

iron. Take it with C instead. So I take the iron & C first, then 2

hrs later, all the other vitamins. (repeat 1 hr before supper) So

while calcium is good, especially if you're a 41 yr old lady such as

myself, space it apart from your iron.

Now on to my question. As mentioned, my surgery was 4 yrs ago this

August. I lost 100 lbs. My friends urged me to put at least 10 back

on, so I did. They said I looked too gaunt. (part of it was the

anemia. Big black circles under my eyes) Well all went well, untill I

got married in Feb, and went on the Depo shot. I've gained another 25

lbs!!!!! Ugh. Has anyone else had this problem? Both my bariatric Dr

and my Gyn Dr says it's the shot. Will the weight gain stop, or level

out? Will it go away if I stop the shot? I had to actually try hard

to gain the 10 lbs. The other 25 just gleefully lept on! Now I feel

like I'm starving my self just to drop 2 lbs.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cheri'
