Guest guest
Hi all, I just want to thank you again, for teaching me to be vigilant about watching my sister for infections. Several weeks ago, she was discovered to have a kidney infection, because you advised me to have her checked. This week, my other sisters were out in New Mexico, caring for my MSA sister, and they noticed a fever again - just over 99 degrees. They called her visiting nurse to check her out, and the nurse discovered that she now has pneumonia. She was started on another antibiotic today. Now I am wondering - what will all of these antibiotics do to her system? Necessary they are, to treat the infections, but I know that they do have side effects. Is there any special advice I should send to New Mexico, in regards to treating my sister's pneumonia? I know that it is not easy for her to be upright for very long. She is extremely shaky and wobbly, so she only walks a few feet at a time - to get to the commode at night, or the washroom during the day. This probably contributed to the pneumonia. She didn't even have a cold. I sure hope that Spring time and nicer weather will make things easier for my sister. I hope that the approaching warmer weather will make things easier for everyone. At least it will be easier to get outside. Thanks, as always, for your advice, support and kind words. - (pistachio53)
