Guest guest
Hi, my name is Carleen Golden, I live in the southeastern part of Washington State (the desert area called the Tri-Cities, otherwise known as the Hanford Nuclear Reservation Area). I am 46 yrs old and I am 7.5 years post op, I had the open RNY in February 1995 and delivered a beautiful baby girl weighing 7#1.5oz in December 1996. (Yes I was 40 yrs old when I delivered and it was awesome) I have lost 140 lbs and I am doing well and maintaining now with a fluctuation of 5 lbs so that is not too bad. I have no complications, other than having my gall bladder go bad after 5 years post op. I have had another surgery. Two years ago in Aug 2002, I had my gall bladder removed, a hernia repaired, a bowel resection and a tummy tuck all done at the same time, and I have had no problems since. All is well, but since I lost 40 pounds since the tummy tuck, I would love to be able to have another tummy tuck. Oh well, if I win the lotto, I will! WEll I also had a total hysterectomy in March of 2002, but it was not due to any complications of WLS. Anyway, I would just like to say hello and introduce myself. I am looking forward to sharing anything I can. I also started up a support group in my area for people that have had GBS or who are thinking about it. The reason I did start it was because I had absolutely NO support when I went through my surgery and I did not want others to go through what I did alone! The group is totally non-profit and volunteer and we have members from all over the US and on in the UK. If you are interested in checking us out we are at: http://groups.msn.com/thenewyousupportgroup I am looking forward to talking with you all and sharing information. Warm Regards, Carleen
