Guest guest
Nothing is perfect. Counts aren't perfect. So do what is comfortable. Full, 1/2 1/4 whatever. In the greater scheme of things an occasional run to the doesn't matter. However, if there is a lot of throwing up, forget the calories and worry about nutrition and dehydration. My 2 cents. Guest guest
I think it is a good question -- never thought about asking how others do it... hum... if it is a carb and comes right back I don't count it (swallow and then right back up sort of coming back) -- if it is a carb or sugar and it stays for longer than the coming right back up part and I chewed it (absorption of sugars and simple carbs in the mouth) I count the whole thing. The doughnut hole for example that I swiped from my 5 year old last week-end, I popped it (nice and warm) in my mouth... it sort of melted the way really fresh glazed doughnuts do... then I spit out the dough part that was left (never swallowed) but I counted it in full.... hugz, ~denise > OK gang, this is a really weird question. But I still need to know --- > > For those of you who count calories or carbs: How do you count > something that, um, shall we say, didn't stay down? Do you count the > full amount? Guest guest
If a food doesn't stay down, by definition, it can not have been absorbed. It should not be counted as food intake. Guest guest
That is just getting way, way too micro and maybe on the edge of obsessive for me. The whole point is to get healthy, and that means in the mind too. I agree if vomiting is so bad it comprimises your nutrition, then it should be addressed. Otherwise, it plain doesn't matter. Hopefully the upchuck will make you avoid those foods in the future and the point will be moot. Guest guest
Just read this. I mean it in a non-judgemental way. I personally freak out counting anything...usually end up craving and overeating. I would be a fruitcake (preferably brandy soaked) if I went there.
