Annette - I wholeheartedly agree with your comments. and Ned are still

so close in their symptoms and in the progression of this disease. They also

seem to have the same outlook on life. Ned, too, has declined a feeding

tube. He does have trouble swallowing and has been on a full liquid diet for

almost 3 years now supplemented with ensure 2xday. Suctioning is an every

day -- sometimes an every hour -- routine, but he has only had aspiration

pneumonia once We, like you and , just take each day at a time and hope

we make the right decisions. The one thing we've promised ourselves is that

we won't second guess any of our decisions. There is no time in our lives

for " what ifs " . We treasure each day we have together.
