Jerrie:

Fred started using depends when we would drive to his mother's or somewhere that it wouldn't be easy to get to a restroom fast. When Fred first had the MSA he was always running to the restroom, and most of the time he wouldn't make it. I would feel so bad for him, so that is why he started using the depends. The one urologist put him on flomax, to help with the problem, but then he got to where he wasn't able to go and another urologist had us start the catheter and we've been doing this since May of last year. You may want to talk to a urologist about this and see what he thinks would be the best way to go for your husband. Things seem to change so fast , that it's not easy to know what to do . If you haven't talked to an urologist , you may want to.

Even now with the catheter, Fred feels better wearing the depends still also.

Take Care

Subject: Re:MSA - urination problems

Hi all: I have a question..what determines when a patient needs to be

catherized or wear diapers? Bob has had a few accidents in the last

couple of weeks. He said he couldn't to get to the urinal in time. I

don't know whether this is an excuse, or if he is becoming incontinent.

Thanks for your answers. Regards, jerrie
