Guest guest
I just got back from my surgeon and he said he is going to try and fill my fistula with some filler material they are starting to use. He told me I was a canidate since mine is the size of a pin head. I still can't understand how you can develop one when your stomach is divided and transected. He said if you have had an ulcer before then you are at a higher risk. I still wonder if its not because of the seam guard material he used to close the pouch up came loose. Only 4 of his patients have developed them and they haven't really gained weight back just had alot of pain kinda like me. I will see him back in two weeks and then we will schedule the procedure. If this doesn't work and I let it go and still have problems then he will have to do major surgery to correct it. Just wondering if anyone else has had their's filled or repaired? I feel honored to be the first one that he will do but he knows of other surgeons that have had success with it. I am also a little scared because I will be the first. This just proves that I am his study case like I always thought because of the strange complications that I developed. I'll keep you all posted and let you know what he says again on Aug 22 when I see him again. Kristy
