Guest guest
I'm not using ritalin, I'm using Dextro-amphetamine. 10 mg in the morning on waking, which is all I need it for, taking more later does not make me more alert and was thus discontinued. I am taking the same amount now as when I started two or three years ago (an less if you conside I dose only once a day). It seems to put my sleep/wake switch in the 'on' position, just as the dose of Hacion .25 mg, puts me in the 'off' position, that dose has actually been taken down and continues to work. Without either I am either contiously alert or continuously sleepy. In that sense I am dependant (which is not the same as addicted). I have no side effects, and for as long as that is the case I expect to use these two. Ritalin has been on the market a very long time (as the two I am taking), the advantage is that the track record is well known and mechanisms understood. I would hesitate greatly to take a new medication whcih does not have that as a benefit.
