Guest guest
Hi everyone my name is Moira Barber and I am 15 months post op Dr.Parekh in Guelph, Ontario my start weight was about 280 and I am currently 152 and up a few pounds and down every other week or so. I have had my abdomnioplasty ( tummy tuck) bilateral reduction mammioplasty( breast reduction) and Lipolyisis. I have also had hernia repair. I have had not too many or sever complications I have had post op anemia my fault I wasnt taking my vitamins. My levels are good now. I do have dumping from time to time. I have auto immune hypo-thyroid disease, colitis and anxiety attacks, suffer from migraines and have arthritis. Im am also the owner of Weight Loss Surgery Advocacy Ontario Inc. We are dedicated to promoting weight loss surgery as an option for people and trying to keep it available for those who choose it. Never will I say this surgery is for everyone IT IS NOT..... It has to be a well thought out last ditch decision after every other avenue has been explored. It has saved my life and I do not regret one minute of it. It is my opinion if you arent ready to make every change you need to make you will not succeed at with this surgery. I too battle everyday with the head hunger crap we experience and emotional stuff that comes with being Morbidly obese for years. Im happy with my decision this far maybe in 10 years I wont be but atleast im going to be alive in 10 years now. I wouldnt have been had I not had this surgery. My father died at age 38 from diabetes and obesity/alcoholism complications and we come from a long long line of genetic garbage and predisposition of Morbid Obesity. I look forward to being a part of this board and if you have any questions by all means fire away, I will answer honestly and to the best of my ability.
