Guest guest
Hi all, Does anyone still misstep (sp?) or still move like you still have the weight on you? I am 2 years + post op and still find myself overcompensating movements - it makes me feel oh so graceful!!! Sometimes, when I try I get up, I do it too fast because I use more force, and then I get dizzy. Sometimes, I lift my feet up too high while walking and misstep - it's too weird. I thought that would have gone away by now. Old habits, huh?? Leigh in KY
Guest guest
Leigh I had to giggle at your post....back in February - everytime I moved, it seemed like I was miss judging!! I even took a flying leap out the garage door - causing a total panick in my husband. After he was assured that I would survive....he just huffed and said - you know, 80 pounds ago, you moved like a ballarina & NOW you are a total klutz!! My PCP was even considering have me go into physical therapy - to get this - learn how to move, walk, sit...etc!! So I definitely understand!! {{{Hugs}}} Karan E. > Hi all, > > Does anyone still misstep (sp?) or still move like you still > have the weight on you? Guest guest
I have lost 108 pounds, with 60 to go, and feel so light on my feet it is unreal. I can't believe how my body compensated for all that extra weight. Some days I feel like I'm floating and I wouldn't trade this feeling for anything. Thanks for sharing and best wishes! > >To: Graduate-OSSG >Subject: Misjudging Movement >Date: Thu, 25 Jul 2002 20:57:16 -0000 > >Hi all, > > Does anyone still misstep (sp?) or still move like you still >have the weight on you? Guest guest
Leigh, I often find myself pushing chairs WAY out of my way as if I still need a 2-3 feet to pass through safely. Sometimes I find myself a little perturbed when people don't move aside a little when passing in a crowd, then I pass through without incident realizing they didn't move because they didn't have to. I fit! I also find myself almost tripping up the first couple of stairs as I prepare to hoist my massive weight up, then find myself stumbling trying to catch my flying body! I was obese for a long time. I'm sure it will take quite a while to adjust (and hopefully I'll never forget about life as a morbidly obese person). Just one of the adjustments I'm more than happy to make. , open rny 5/23/01, Dr. Alison Clarey, D.O., - 109 lbs so far! luigi40515 leigh.gattozzi@...> wrote: Hi all, Does anyone still misstep (sp?) or still move like you still have the weight on you?
