Guest guest
Well that one hit a nerve. I have never had a problem with being in a crowded room, noisy room, etc. I had WLS in 10/99 and I would say about 2 years ago the panic attacks started when I'm in crowds. First one was at my son's pack night for cub scouts. Granted, most people would have a panic attack with 150 kids ranging in age from 5-12 with their parents in a school gym would probably react the same way, but not me. I will only go to pack night now (which is once a month) if it's something very special for him, otherwise daddy takes him. And when I do go, I take Xanax beforehand. I've noticed in other social situations that I'm having similar symptoms. Very stressed, need to get out and finding that I'm leaning more towards more intimate get togethers than what I used to do when I was 378 lbs. Go figure. Thought I was just getting old and cranky. Traumatic events, I can handle. I'm still good in a crisis, but find I analyze them more than I used to. Again, thought it was old age creeping up on me.
