Dear friends,

We've had a bit of good news to share. I (Jim) finally finished the doctoral

program that I've been working on for some years at the University of

Nebraska at Lincoln. The dissertation was turned in and approved just a

short time ago. It's now Ph.D. Jim. Now I'm caught up with Peg. The

dissertation title was " The Real Time World: Online Budget and Financial

Applications in Higher Education. " It's a grounded theory study of how

business officers in higher education are using such applications in

changing the management style at their institutions. I interviewed 14

business officers from the set of 50 with which I worked when I was

designing and implementing such applications around the country.

That's a big load off our shoulders. When I get caught up with other stuff

in a month or so I'll have the final draft of the dissertation uploaded to

my research WEB site and anyone who wants can have a go at it.

Of course like anyone else on this list I'd give it up in an instant to turn

back the clock and have what Peg and I had before ShyDrager. Of course too,

that's not possible.

Peg and Jim from Guam.
