Hi Everybody (a little long)

I guess I've lurked long enough. Now I'll introduce myself.

I'm Debbie and I live in Alabama. I had my life altering open RNY on

May 9, 2001.

Oh what a difference a year has made!!!!!!! I'm sure not going to say

it was a breeze but it has sure been worth it!!!!

I'm 45 years young with a 4 year old Grandson (Brennan) who was one

of the main reasons why I did this.

I want to be able to do things with him and now I can. The first time

we played baseball, he came back in and told my DH " MeeMa can run

fast now!!!

I'm not going to lie and say I didn't do it to look better because I

did. I hated what I had become and didn't want to go anywhere or do

anything. Never felt like I looked good enough to go anywhere.

I was one of the luck ones that had my family and friends support all

the way.

I work in a manufactoring plant and had alot of support from all my

co-workers too. All the compliments sure went a long way in my self

image!!

I recently put 10lbs back on and had a wake up call!!! It went

something like this.........

Hey you .....are you crazy???? What are you doing to yourself????

You know what that candy and all those carbs did for you before!!

Do you want to look and feel like that again?? You DUMMY!!!!!

Get back to the basics!! Water, Water, and more Water, and watch

those carbs too.

Only eat when you're hungry, not just cause it's there and you're

bored!!!

So...... I started doing what I should have been doing all along and

eased out of. Guess what??????

I've lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks!!!!

I really couldn't have done it without all the info I've gotten from

all of you.

So from the bottom of my heart I Thank all of you for your wisdom and

your bravenes in posting what you do.

I put some before and after pics in the photo album under red_dlb so

you can put a face to my name.

I always like to see who I'm talking to on here.

It makes me feel like I know you better.
