Guest guest
Dear Friends, I am writing this to clarify a few things and misunderstandings. The Support Report newsletter that is published bi-monthly is not part of the rpolychondritis@... nor is it a part of the RP Foundation. The RP Foundation has its own newsletter that I have contributed several articles to. To receive the RP Foundation's newsletter you need to contact , who is responsible for the RP Foundation's membership. With your membership to the RP Foundation you will receive their newsletter. The RP Foundation is a new entity and is just starting out. They have a very good idea and it is part of Angie's dream. But past helping with the RP Foundation's newsletter, I have no say so into it or the RP Foundation. The Support Report was started in the United Kingdom in 1987. Later it was best believed that a separate chapter started here in the states would best serve the two RP communities. I have been receiving The Support Report since 1997 when I joined NORD ( National Organization for Rare Diseases). At that time it was published by Faye, then Shirley Colbath took it over. Last summer Shirley had health problems and felt that publishing this newsletter was two much. She asked the members of The Support Report if someone would take it over for her. Which I did. This was down will before the announcement that the RP Foundation was started. At one point Shirley sent two Support Report newsletters to the Rpolychondritis@... and they where placed into a folder for newsletters. When Woods announced that the RP Foundation was a go. She and I e-mailed about the two newsletters. It was agreed that they would remain separate. I also asked Woods if it would be all right to invite the RPolychondritis@yahoo group if they would like to sign up for the Support Report. She granted permission. The Support Report also ran the announcement of the RP Foundation in it Jan/Feb issue, along with how to contact the rpolychondritis@yahoo support group. I am sorry if anyone thought that the RP Foundation's newsletter and The Support Report are the same. They are not. And I do not know of any plans to change this. If you want the Support Report, Just contact me and I would be happy to send you an e-mail copy or a hard copy. If you are looking for the RP Foundation's newsletter please contact . Thank You R. publisher The Support Report TheSupportReport Skyfireranch@...
