Guest guest
~ I know you got replies to this but I wanted to add my thoughts and I am just getting around to answering emails! lol Maybe if you take the approach that YOU need help and since SHE is on WW maybe the two of you can work together. As far as the Dr Pepper tell her what you know about the negative (ie caffeine, stimulates appetite, empty calories, diuretic, etc) tell her it is HARD to give up. See if you can challenge her to just cut back. For instance a Dr. Pepper with lunch at school so she doesnt feel " left out " or " different " but in exchange she has to drink a bottle of water on the way to school and on the way home. Something like that. Maybe jump in the kitchen with her and give her some lessons on healthier cooking.....again making it as if you are BOTH learning TOGETHER rather than mom being pushy or a know it all. Praise her for her efforts (joining WW) and do your best to have the healthy choices in the house rather than those things that tempt her (AND YOU!!) hehe Good Luck! ~Hugs Melty~ Open RNY 5/1/98 -- -163 lbs Panniculectomy/abdomnioplasty 5/23/01 -- -15 lbs Dr. Lawrence Barzune, Dallas TX -- would recommend him 110% **considering a breast lift **consider myself at goal for over 2.5 years however have recently made changes in diet/exercise to try and tone up and lose a few more pounds if possible! --- Beal kkb1958@...> wrote: > > Okay,guys-I need some of the collective wisdom from > this list.I know many of us were overweight(or > thought we were) from childhood, and have been > through every diet program in the book.My 15 year > old,,is on WW right now.She is only 5'1/2 " tall > and weighs about 150.I think she needs to loose > about 30 pounds-no more. She is really struggling > with her food and drink choices-she still wants > regular DR Pepper!-and I'm struggling with how to > help her.I'm trying to mostly keep my mouth shut > because I don't want to come off as critical. She > does get in regular activity because she's in > marching band, and they work their tails off during > marching season!I think she's eating too many > carbs, but she complains that the lower carb choices > have too many " points " .Any wisdom?? > > Thanks, > Beal > 2/09/01 > 273/147 > Unsubscribe: > mailto:Graduate-OSSG-unsubscribe > > > > >
