Guest guest
Hi all. Just thought I'd let you know they readmitted Regina today. She had a fever, chills and vomiting over night. Took her to the doc this morning and he put her back on antibiotics and told us to call immediately if there was any change in her. Said her throat was a little red, but not bad and that her chest seemed a little congested. I took her home and three hours later she couldn't breathe. Rushed her to the ER, her throat was almost completely closed from the tonsil swelling. Gave her a bunch of stuff, not sure what, but it seemed to help with the breathing. She works for a really good ENT and he is a dear friend and he was just coming out of the OR when they paged him. I feel better knowing he's taking care of her. She is so run down they're concerned about pneumonia and this is her 7th case of tonsillitis this year. Doc feels that she is much too weak to have a tonsillectomy and said that if she does have one down the line that he will probably admit her for a week or two with a feeding tube because he won't know how long it will be before she will be able to eat or drink enough to maintain herself. She seems to dehydrate very quickly. Regina was wondering if any of you have had your tonsils out since your WLS. Well, thought I'd let you know what's going on. Thanks, Tim
