Anne,

Hi! Not to contradict the nurses that told you about the vinegar for sterilization, but my mama just recently got out of the Hospital with severe UTI that had went into her kidneys! She always cathed herself until that. Now I cath her 3 x a day! The RN & Doc said that the vinegar was just to kill the urine smell and that you could use soap water to wash the caths! I still do not trust the soap water deal so we use the individual wrapped disposable caths! Hope this helps!
