Guest guest
Their must be different test types for that one -- my one year (surgeon ordered) showed Folic Acid 11.3 (B12 300) My 2 year results were different names and different " what's normal " ranges (different lab) Folates (Folic Acid), Serum 6 ng/mL Normal: >5.4 Deficient: <3.4 Indeterminate: 3.4 - 5.4 My B-12 was up to 469 on that one. I think they do the B-12 and Folate test together - or they are related in the B vitamin family way. My iron came back high and my doctor called to tell me to stop taking any and all Iron Supp's and cut Iron foods -- thing is, I don't, never have taken iron (makes me real sick) Anyway, our Folic is a B related test and if you go to webmd.com and type in " Folate Test " to search on it has articles: http://my.webmd.com/encyclopedia/article/3608.4474 is the main article on " low " levels but it doesn't mention high levels. You may want to search further. Hope this helps... my lab results from early post op to 2 years are posted in the " files " section hugz, ~denise

Guest guest
Any of you ladies who are planning on having children watch your folic acid. Spinal bifida is caused by low folic acid. Good luck Sue > Their must be different test types for that one -- my one year (surgeon > ordered) showed > Folic Acid 11.3 (B12 300) > My 2 year results were different names and different " what's normal " ranges > (different lab) > Folates (Folic Acid), Serum 6 ng/mL > Normal: >5.4 > Deficient: <3.4 > Indeterminate: 3.4 - 5.4 > My B-12 was up to 469 on that one. > I think they do the B-12 and Folate test together - or they are related in > the B vitamin family way. > > My iron came back high and my doctor called to tell me to stop taking any > and all Iron Supp's and cut Iron foods -- thing is, I don't, never have > taken iron (makes me real sick) > > Anyway, our Folic is a B related test and if you go to webmd.com and type in > " Folate Test " to search on it has articles: > http://my.webmd.com/encyclopedia/article/3608.4474 > is the main article on " low " levels but it doesn't mention high levels.
