Well, if you give GSE and discover he reacts badly, that would be a sign. I don't know other signs tho, but you can post here to Andy and he should be able to give you some info, and maybe recommend a test if you want to test first. / If you don't want to test [or even if you do test], I would suggest you start slow, like maybe 1 drop in the morning, and see how your child reacts to it, and also how he reacts to any die off. Guest guest
Yes, I do believe it does help somewhat with yeast, but when we've done other anti-yeast treatments in addition to the tea,. we've seen major die-off reactions. I like the tea to help boost the immune system, digestion, and to add important minerals and vitamins. As far as when to add another supplement, you should just observe your child and add something new when you're sure there are no negative reactions from the tea or whatever else you're using. My practice always is to go slow when starting any new supplement or treatment. Guest guest
Better eye contact, more language, less colds and viruses, almost no more seizures. I never saw much of a die-off reaction with the tea, because I started out with only 1/4 tsp. of prepared tea, then slowly increased it over time. At times when I've given larger amounts, there was some hyperactivity. My son is also sensitive to a lot of things, but always does better all around when on the tea. All of our family drinks it and periodically when I stop it and then start it again we all are healthier and my other children (NT) are better behaved. Not sure how this stuff works but it definitely does good things in the body for us. mmklhughes@... wrote: > Sharon, > > What kind of improvements did you see from the tea? Guest guest
Alan, are you on other meds for seizures? My son had his first seizure about 2 weeks ago. It runs in my family so wasn't suprised that he had one. Do you really feel the tea has helped? Any other supplements that you give for this? Guest guest
When my son was 20 months old, he got very ill, became very dehydrated and began having seizures. He was hospitalized for a few days. They ran several tests but didn't find anything that they could say caused his illness. They said it was a " virus " . Since that day he has never been the same. He began having seizures that came in a cycle. By that I mean he would have seizures for many hours in one day and then not have anymore for another month. Then it would happen again. As the months went on the time between the day of the seizures got closer together until they were coming one day per week. I have felt for a long time that some type of parasite, bacteria or virus was the root cause of this. The ojibwa tea and the GFCF diet were the first interventions that I tried with my son, but when my son was drinking the tea daily, his seizures almost completely went away. I feel that the tea was either killing some organism in his body or supplying needed nutrients or balancing something out to help with the seizures. During the last year, my son has been chelating (he has high levels of mercury according to tests) and we have done lots of yeast treatment and it's very rare now that he gets any seizures. Not having enough magnesium also can cause seizures. Mercury throws the magnesium levels off whack in their systems. Giving magnesium can stop seizures. I've actually used it to stop my son's seizures. In answer to your question about seizure meds, my son has never taken any medicine for his seizures. I was convinced something weird was causing the cyclical seizures and I have been searching for the root cause of them so that I might stop them altogether. So far, the interventions and supplements have been making a difference in how many seizures he gets. Gone are the days of frequent seizures, thanks to these great e-mail lists that have helped me during the past two years search for answers to help him. Guest guest
That's wonderful Sharon. May I ask, did your son ever have any vaccs? Guest guest
Did you give your consent on the vaccine in the hospital? Did they even ask?? We had to tell them several times this time to NOT give her ANY vaccs & had it in writing. They said they don't do that in the hospital anymore but I hear about it so I kept her with me the whole time anyway. I think it might depend on the hospital. Could his seizures have been brought on by the vaccs? My son is vaccine injured & autistic. Blessings, Michele
Guest guest
I had planned not to give any until closer to school age, but they gave him the dreaded Hep B in the hospital after he was born (I didn't even know that they did that - my older children had never received shots at birth). He received the rest of his shots after a hospitalized illness at age 2. So he received ALL of the rest of his shots between age 2 and 3 (that's when all the autistic behaviors began to accompany the seizures.) He actually got full-blown measles 10 days after receiving the MMR shot. I just got a medical exemption from my dr. so he will not get any of the boosters or the chicken pox shot that is required for Kindergarten. mmklhughes@... wrote: > That's wonderful Sharon. Guest guest
Hi Michele, The tea is supposed to be given on an empty stomach if possible - at least 1 and 1/2 hours away from all other food and or supps. First thing in the morning or right before bedtime is suggested. I just finished boiling our first batch. Hope this helps, Darlene > > -if tea & stool formula, when do I give those (around other supps? around > enzymes or not? > Thank you, > Michele
