My Dear Ramoth

I am just off the phone with DH; we are 21 years USAF, a portion of your

husband's retired pay can be awarded to you by the court; go for child

support, alimony, and Insurance forever as part of settlement. You have been

married more than ten years...check this on dfas site: this is the place that

pays out annuities and miliary retirement and other payment matters. (dfas:

defense finance and accounting service; try www.dfas.mil

Once there, use search mechanism and type in divorce: here is just a sample o

some of the items that come up from such a search.

3. DFAS: Garnishment - Former Spouses' Protection Act

....member's military retired pay as property in their final decree of divorce

, dissolution, annulment, or legal separation (the court order)....Court

orders enforceable under the Act include final decrees of divorce,

dissolution, annulment, and legal separation, and court-ordered...

  4. DFAS: Garnishment - Former Spouses' Protection Act FAQs

....former spouse's retired pay which had accrued as of the date of our divorce

.. Why do I need to get a clarifying order to have my award enforced... in the

court order. Why is this the case when our marriage and divorce dates, and

the member's service entry date, were given in the court...

YOu hang in there. do not despair. To despair means to forget that God is

with us.

love,
