Guest guest
Well, the 3rd surgeon I had scheduled to see was Dr. Shinn on 9/23. Last week I found out that my company will be changing insurance companies - effective 11/1 and we don't know who we are going with yet. So, I called Dr. Shinn's office asking for any cancellation, etc. Well, I got in to see her yesterday at 4pm! She is just as wonderful as everyone has said. I took a letter from my wl surgeon explaining the medical neccessity for the reconstructive plastic surgery with me. Dr. Shinn said that we will have the insurance filed by either the end of this week or early next week. After asking what is most important to me, (I figured she would ask this) I was able to say that having the abdomnioplasty and the arms done are the areas that bother me the most. We are going to file for a breast lift as well, but it that doesn't happen I'm not going to worry to much about it (you can always wear material and wire!). So, hopefully I will know something w/in the next couple weeks. I explained the time crunch to her and she was very supportive. Ok, it's hard to believe that this could really be happening! If I've had body image stuff to deal with so far, imagine what it will be like after this! April
