A couple of nights ago I wrote and asked what anyone knew about sudden

weight loss, but I wasn't very specific. On Feb 28th Jeff went to the

doctor, weighed in at 199. On March 6, he was in Houston (Baylor) and

weighed in at 201. Yesterday he went out to try and play some golf. He

tried to walk the course, but had to ride after the 4th hole, he felt so

weak. When he got in to the clubhouse, he weighed himself and was 170. 30

pounds in a WEEK!!!??? Now, I know that scales can have discrepancies, but

these were ALL doctor scales, and even if they were 10 pounds off, that's

still a 20 pound drop! He's sweating uncontrollably and at random times.

He's not peeing, though his bowels are working fine now. None of this

makes any sense!! The only change is that the doctors prescribed dexedrine

for energy. Could that be causing the sudden weight loss? I'm pretty sure

it's contributing to the sweats. Any thoughts? M.

It could be the scales, or it could be dehydratiom. Check him out at the

doctor's office again - I doubt they will charge you to weigh him. If it is a

true loss, he needs to see the doctor. Just before you go to the doctor, weigh

him at the golf clubhouse if possible.

Take care, Bill
