Guest guest
Yes I went for my 2 week post op appt on 6/3 they said everything was looking pretty good. I got advanced to stage III they told me the area tht I am suspecting is a hernia may not be. It kind of sinks in a little bit in one area and buldges in another they said that is because it is stapled so deeply. Tomorrow I am going to go get a abdominal binder to see if it might help the surgeon said I could or couldn't use it but if I wanted to try it go ahead so I'm going to try it. All my steri strips were off and the insisions are looking great. Well thanks for asking. Hope your doing well also.... I did lose 12.5 lbs so far. Only 3.5 lbs to get below 200 yea below 200.... Haven't been there forever..... RoseTina wrote: Rose --Didn't you go to the doctor recently? How was your check-up?Tina> Well, I received a call from fremont today. Guest guest
Rose, 13 pounds is GREAT!. I always felt like my weight loss was slow to but as I sat down and figured the math, I have lost a total of 79.5 pounds. 27 was presurgery and 52 post (I am 4 months post op). So It is about 13 pounds a month. I suspect that I am approaching five months and then six so my weight loss will probably slow down. I reached 170 with my goal of 130. Life has been great so far. Even though you might not see the scale move..rather moving slowly, the inches are coming off so don't be discouraged. Everyone loses at different pace. I am convinced that for me, slower is better because I am able to keep up with the skin thingie. I think my only problem right now is my saggy boobs but I would take saggy boobs any day over the weight that I shed. Hang in there and it will be fine. Big hug to you. Guest guest
Rose, thirteen pounds is good for you as you are smaller than many of us. I think I was losing at about the rate you are, and now I'm losing slower than that. In my case, the fat is just so used to having a happy home that it wants to stay! Guest guest
Thanks for the encouraging words Pam and yes you are right slower is sometimes better because of the skin thingie... I also have the saggy boobie thing going on that sucks but that will be another surgery a long time off. I set my 1st goal at 139 at that weight I will have lost a total of 127 lbs when I get there I'll reassess things I am 5 ft 5 in. Well any way thanks again and you have an excellent weight loss yourself keep up the excellent work. RosePamela A Marsh wrote: Rose, 13 pounds is GREAT!. Guest guest
Wish I could come tomorrow, but I have a crazy day. First I have to go to the doctor to find out what's wrong with this eye, and then I have to go to the store to do my weekly shopping. They have my Hood yogurt on sale for 5 for $3, and I want to get a bunch. Then I have to come home, put things away, feed my husband and call my friend, who I've known since I was five. We both have appointments with our doctors tomorrow, so we shall exchange them. By the time I get all that done, and get dinner ready, That will be it! Maybe next week.
Guest guest
Hi Rose, the doc says that I have conjunctivitis. Nothing serious, just have to take some antibiotic eye drops and call him if they don't help. So far they seem to be helping, but I am leaking so much that I'm miserable! Afraid I wouldn't have been very pleasant to look at last night. Dan is at the store right now buying me some baby shampoo for washing my eyes, per the instructions of the ophthalmologist to which my pcp sent me. Actually the pcp got me confused with his other blind patient, a woman with a guide dog, and thought my eyes were artificial! Poor man was embarrassed, and it really wasn't his fault. If Kaiser would put all medical conditions on our charts, including blindness and having artificial eyes, it would be a lot easier for the docs not to get confused. Guest guest
LaWanda well I'm glad that you got this medication so they will improve. I thought maybe it was pink eye thats the same thing. Hope you continue to get better with this. Make sure you wash all your sheets and things as it spreads and wash your hands frequently. How have you been feeling other than that? Hows the weight going still going down down down... I have one LB until I get to 200.. I only have this week off then I'm back to work I am still having pain but it should hopefully pass. I still also get lightheaded sometimes that is bothersome but it doesn't happen all the time so I have to deal with that. Other than that I'm doing ok too. Well you take care and keep me posted... Guest guest
Thanks for the tips about hands and sheets. Because I use my hands a lot, I already do wash them very frequently. The weight is coming off very slowly, and I think that part of the reason for that is that I don't exercise enough. Not a person who just naturally enjoys exercise, I have to make myself do it each time, and it's hard. Even walking, that doesn't have a purpose, I don't like much as I think it is boring and an exercise in paying attention more than anything else. Nevertheless I am resolved at least to go out and walk today, if nothing else. I should also get on my elliptical and work out there too, but we'll see. Guest guest
I hate exercise too. I went and bought a cd player with ear phones and what a diff that was. I popped in my favorite music and I was able to do 25 minutes instead of my 13 to 15 minutes. I think I am pumped up from yesterday at my appointments and even though I am 3 lbs from goal want to take off another ten so that surgery is easier on me.
