Hi Jodi,

This item was much in use years ago.....called a truss or hernia support and was available in surgical supply stores. People used them to forestall surgery for hernias. My uncle wore one to the end of his life against his doctor's advice.

However, you should speak to your MD about this..since your hernia is open. Your doctor may advise it is contraindicated for this type of hernia.
