Guest guest
Diagnosed with UC in 2006 and am being treated with 100mg Azathioprine and tapering 40mg of pred. Until now I have been able to control flares. Recently came across the SCD and actually started the diet yesterday. It has reduced my cramps, not my bleeding yet. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do when the diet zaps your energy? Any safe carbs that can be used to help? Caffeine? Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Hi, I have found a brisk walk or some form of exercise on as close to a daily basis as possible helps in the long run. Occasionally I have a cup of tea but I made sure it's black or green and organic. I sweeten with honey. I only have the tea if my stomach can handle it. If your still bleeding I wouldn't. I did find steaming pears and apples also helped. Hang in there. It's worth it. I am sending a hug your way. Val SCD 6 weeks UC 2 years Asacol 2400 mg(and going down!!!!) Guest guest
Hey.. I didn't get your name.. I had this problem of being zapped of energy many times. It is really die off and a shift in your gut ecology that is making you tired. This isn't the biggest help but sometimes you just need to take it easy and give in a couple of days, weeks and just chill out and relax.. not pushing yourself. I have gotten a bunch of times into trouble pushing myself. I know this is much harder if you are a working person. I have been to sick to have a job. With that said.. I need jolts here and there to just keep me going at times. Weak coffee, Green Tea or fresh diluted green juice with pineapple and limes give me a jolt (but this could be advanced especially if you have D and or cramping) Do you have time to take a nap? Excersize like mild Yoga or a nice walk- really depends how worn out you feel. There is no magic potion but as you start to really heal you'll feel loads better.. It just takes time.. thus said I with no patience LOL. Have you worked up to taking probiotics yet or yogurt? That can make the exhaustion/bowel symptoms worse at first but in the long run it helps us achieve a whole new level of health. Keep up he good work!
