Guest guest
SCD legal... I don't know how advanced these would be as they are fried pork skin and salt, but I tried them today and i'll see if I react after 2 days from now. Hopefully I don't because these are a great snack to keep when you're in the mood for a quick munchie like a bag of chips. Except these are SCD legal. I've also seen recipes where you can use ground up pork rinds on the outside of chicken as a breading. They are kinda tasty! and they add variety. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that never thought about these. I didn't used to like them but now that i'm on SCD they are ok -UC - 1 yearSCD - 2 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 4 pills 3 times a day - hopefully scd will help me get off these!Hydrocortisone taper.. 1 every 3rd day for another 2 weeks.Get back to school stuff for them and cashback for you. Guest guest
Hi ,I don't know how advanced they are either. has never had a problem with them. They're a great snack and so versatile. They're good with guacamole and salsa and if I'm being lazy and don't feel like making crackers, will eat tuna salad or egg salad on them and he really likes it. During hurricane Ike, when we didn't have power and I couldn't bake, I was craving something sweet. I took some pork rinds, sprinkled them with cinnamon and drizzled honey over them. I know it sounds gross but its really good. I still do that when I want a quick, sweet snack. There's also an SCD recipe out there using pork rinds and peanut butter to make a crunchy sweet treat. I think there is video showing how to make them on youtube. And we use them to bread things all the time. Usually I mix some almond flour, crushed pork rinds and Parmesan cheese. I really like it and it's a lot easier than frying with just almond flour because almond flour tends to burn easily. The pork rinds are much more forgiving. Like you, I never cared for them much prior to SCD but now, they're pretty good :-)Kim H.husband, , CD 1999, SCD 2002To: btvc-scd Sent: Saturday, August 1, 2009 10:12:30 PMSubject: pork rinds SCD legal... Guest guest
I was also able to eat them pretty early on as long as I don't overdo it. My fave is making baked " nachos " with them. Cooked ground meat with " taco " seasoning, shredded cheese, and jalepenos. A little dripped yogurt would have been great too but I didn't have any one hand. Our Race Trac gas stations have the pork rinds, Kraft cheese in 2 oz blocks, and Tropicana pure premium that I get when I'm out too long. The small bag doesn't cause any problems. I've always eaten them since I was a kid so I was so happy to find out the ones with just pork skins and salt were legal. Like with anything, start slow.
