Guest guest
Dear COlleagues, as you may be aware, this Research Egroup was created as a product of the Midwestern Stream Forum's Research Track. Another spin off benefit was the expansion of the Research Track to the East and to the Western Stream Forums. The genesis of all of this research oriented activity (and a major source of the funding) has been NCFH's partnership with the Southwest Center for Agricultural Health, Injury Prevention and Education, based out of the University of Texas at Tyler. Now it is time for UT to re-apply for funding from the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety in another competetive grant cycle. I am writing at this time to request your input in the form of a dialog on this egroup. In particular, I would like to hear about three types of things. In general, these are my questions, please feel free to talk informally about any or all of these points: 1. What do you think of this egroup, how has it helped you and what has it meant to you as a migrant health provider, a researcher and an advocate for the population? 2. Have you attended any of the Forums, and if so, what have you gotten out of them? If you have not attended a Forum, what would it take to get you involved? 3. Has anything come out of this increased effort to unite practice based providers with researchers, have you initiated any research that will help us to document and understand this challenging responsibility to serve migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Thank you very much, your input will be very helpful to us in shaping our plans with UT Tyler and NIOSH for future funding. -- Bobbi Ryder CEO National Center for Farmworker Health 1770 FM 967 Buda, TX 78610 512.312.2700, ext. 201 512.312.2600 (fax) http://www.ncfh.org
