Guest guest
I am pretty sure I have a fatty liver. I have since figured out what th eproblem is and gone to a raw foods diet. Been on scd 4+ years. Last week I made yogurt and ate cheese, both are not good for me, even though scd says it is legal. I have always had problem with dairy, just thought i was healed enough to try some. Also a NP told me to take the L-Glutamine with a meal and that just sent my liver even mroe angry. So am drinking water, raw juices, vegetables, might even today go on a lemon juice fast as I always feel better on that. I gave my self a coffee enema... Guest guest
JH One of the tests I had early on in my path to digestive diagnosis revealed I had extensive fat deposits on my liver. Of course my doctors told me not to worry about it... I eventually learned what my digestive dysfunctions are, and wouldn't you know, they involve the upper GI, so I do have to pay attention to the fat content of foods I eat, and get my liver functions tested regularly. I don't eat yogurt, and don't eat cheese. I can't eat raw food either -- in fact, there are a lot of SCD-permitted foods that my digestion or immune system refuse to tolerate. But I still eat well on those foods that I can eat. Even more importantly, I have my digestive dysfunctions under good management so I can live a fairly normal life. The longer I've been on SCD, the more stable my digestion has become. I don't do the usual natural treatments for liver, such as fasts and coffee enemas, but that's my choice. I just stick to SCD foods that my body tolerates. I don't do anything to stress my upper GI, and I get my liver (and pancreatic) functions tested regularly. My gastroenterologist is always amazed when he sees how well my upper GI is working, and that I'm not needing pain management 24/7 as other patients with my primary digestion dysfunction require. And so far the fatty liver deposits haven't gotten worse, and my common bile duct manages to keep working too. Thanks to SCD. Kim M.
