Guest guest
Does anyone know if there is a program for people who have to travel to have the surgery? Like a host program....(like student exchange, where they can come and stay with someone who has had the surgery already.)Would anyone be willing to open there home and offer there support for such a program? Not only would it help finnancialy, but it would also help the pre and post op person emotionaly. Let me know what you all think. Guest guest
I think its a great idea to have something organized and available near all the surgeons for those who travel. We are doing just that for a gal who has no family in the area and will be having her surgery with Dr. Maguire. We brought it up at our support group meeting and someone local who was able to accommodate her, offered to let her stay there. Though it probably won't be put in place for some time, one of the components of the non-profit organization, New Life Teams for Better Health is to help get extended stay places set-up near surgeons. This would enable them a place to stay and cost much less than the extended stay facilities currently available. If you or anyone would like to join the yahoo group for the non-profit.
