Guest guest
Hi group, I have my physical today by my surgeon. I'm feeling really scared, because the next step is the dreaded waiting for the insurance company's answer. I'm literally feeling sick to my stomach, and I haven't even been there yet. I'm scared to death that United Health Care won't cover the BPD/DS procedure, and that is what I so desperately want to have. I have no exclusions in my policy, but I don't personally know of anybody who has had this procedure done that has UHC. Just feeling a need to vent............any thoughts on this? Thanks. Guest guest
Pam: I have United Healthcare Option PPO and my BPD/DS is Thursday. My surgeon, Dr. Gagner is out-of-network. I could have used an in network surgeon, but i wanted Gagner. So I have to pay out-of-pocket fees. $2000.00 plus my deductible which I think I may have met. So good luck. Also, they approved in 2 days and called me at home to tell me. Guest guest
Pam, I have United Healthcare and they approved my BPD/DS with no problems at all. I guess within UHC there are many different policies (depending on your employer), mine is Select EPO. It took about a month to get approved. It would have been quicker, but my surgeon likes the paperwork (everything written) whereas UHC would have done it with a phone call and a fax. My surgery is planned for this coming monday (4-9) with Dr. Heap in Kennewick, WA. 5 more days...I can't believe it! Good luck to you! --- pamjams2@... wrote: > Hi group, > > I have my physical today by my surgeon.
