Jerry,

You might try contacting Dr. Hess' office since a lot of those

longterm patients might be his. The DS portion of the surgery does

not bypass the plylorus and duodenum thus absorping more nutrients. I

can't see how the DS would affect the liver more negatively than the

BPD alone. We have some longterm BPD patients on our list. Good luck
