Guest guest
I had the DS on Nov 15 and my husband had his on the 17th...he had lap and I had open. Our food intake was pretty normal albeit very small the first few days. I started off with cream of wheat, oatmeal, eggs, toast, jello, ice cream mixed with sherbert, cheese, but only ate maybe a couple tablespoons at a time the first 3-4 days. Kinda dipping the spoon into the cream of wheat and licking it off that way. I drank more water than I ate and was allowed ice chips as soon as I was awake enough to eat them.....I think day 2. By the time we were 10 days out we split a mc donalds cheeseburger and it was yummy! We were also eating refried beans with grated cheese, yogurt, soft tacos, things like that. By the time we weree 2 weeks out we were eating small bites of salads, chicken, pasta etc. Now.............we eat alot more but reach satiety quickly and can leave some on the plate. A typical days meals consist of: Breakfast......... scrambled egg with bacon and piece of toast with butter and sometimes some peanut butter on it. Grapes Lunch......... tuna sandwich with real mayo or pita bread loaded with chicken or fajita meat a little shredded lettuce, small chopped tomatoes and some hummus and a little sour cream OR baked potato loaded with cheese, a little broccoli and bacon crumbles with sour cream, butter and anything else we want Dinner is just about anything.........sometimes prime rib, steaks, chicken, turkey, pork chops or pork roast, or sometimes we go to town and have a pizza loaded with protein and most times we just eat the topping off of it or eat just one slice with the crust. There are no forbidden foods and everything in moderation. Since being in Seattle now for the last two weeks I have indulged myself in Starbucks Carmel Frappes every other day and it has not hurt me any! Its a real treat that I really love and at home I would have to drive an hour to a town that has them so for now Im just indulging myself of a joy I can not get at home. We eat something sweet every single day and do not deny ourselves this.....it has not hurt our weight loss any and so far Im down 68 lbs with 40 more to go and Mike is down 108 with 50 more to go. There is ONE thing that has changed for me that is really suprising.......I no longer like ice cream! I ate that stuff by the ton pre opt so its a real blessing that I no longer care for it......gives me the shivers to think of it! Also most fruit drinks including apple juice must be diluted as they are way too sweet for me now. As a result, I drink water all the time and elminate fruit juices. Hope this helps you pre opts!
