Guest guest
Silly me. Here I am the one requesting everyone write what they eat and I didn't even do it. I'll do yesterday Breakfast:protein shake(soy milk/designer protein), papaya slices Lunch: 1/2 cheeseburg from local diner type place (it took my about 1/2 hour to eat) Din din: Uncle Bens rice bowl Meat & veggies This I had to do in 1/3's because I had such a big lunch (for me). So I ate 1/3 then a half hour later 1/3 and half hour later 1/3 Today so far: Break: protein (same as above) Lunch: 1/2 six inch turkey sub from subway * I found that if I wait and eat more in a half hour I get a lot more food down. I wasn't getting in enough food even just to exist this has really helped with the energy and in a weird way has taken the pressure off. I just relax and know that what I don't eat I'll eat later ** I am starting to incoorperate some fats in my diet (otherwise I had nothing to eat) I take Fiber con daily w/relief from the runs almost 4 days!! *** The only other problem I find is on days like yesterday when I eat well. I usually don't get in my water. It's like it's either on or the other.

MBW.....My understanding is that this kind of eating is called " eating around the surgery " and could compromise weight loss. My surgeon tells me that our greatest weight loss comes from the small amounts we are able to eat. Even though it seems like we can eat very little for some time after surgery, the other calories our bodies need to survive come from the fat we are burning as we lose. The ability to keep weight off comes from the malabsorbtion. I'm not criticizing your food management at all! Just wanted to point this out. We each need to do what works for us. For me, I eat the smallest portion that fills me up and 80% of the time I stay very satisfied. If I am still hungry I will eat more without guilt. ===== H Dr. Keshishian 11-21-00 __________________________________________________
