Hi.. Ive been denied services with UHC on final appeal because they

say that they dont pay for ds on the basis that its experimental.

Please, any of you who have had approval thru UHC, please send me a

copy of your approval letter? They cant take approval away and I

really need it. they are not doing the right thing by me and I would

really appreciate your help.. thanks

Hi Sue,

I also have United Health Care PPO options and was approved EXACTLY as Dorian said. I was approved in less than 24 hours also, and they called me to tell me. Then they went on to say that if I needed nursing care at home afterwards, that I was covered for that as well.

I can't understand why they told you it was "experimental." Is there an exclusion that you are maybe not aware of in your particular policy? That's the only thing that I can think of.

I would definitely fight this. It seems as though they have mixed feelings about whether some are requesting the wls for health or cosmetic reasons. Being that wls Are becoming more and more common,it's seems like they are trying to crack down by attempting to weed some out.As if to test you to see if you really feel it is necessary. Remember, anything worth having,often doesnot come easy.FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! GoodLuck!
