WOW! You had your surgery the day before me. Were you at Kaiser S.

San Francisco? If so, who was your surgeon? what kinds of food are

you eating at this point? I am still doing the liquid thing and

added in cottage cheese. I tried scrambled egg, took about 4 spoons

and got the gag feeling.

It's great to have someone be so close to my date of surgery. how

much have you lost so far? Do ou know the average loss for this

amount of time?

I know what you mean with feeling really good and then slowing down

in the energy, it's a strange thing for me to want to take naps.

Again, thanks for all your advice....Have a great rest of the

weekend.

I was in Richmond. Dr. Fisher was my surgeon. Yesterday I had 2 oz of Hood's yoghurt for breakfast, 2 and a half grilled shrimp (small) for lunch...and 2 grilled shrimp and grilled onion and red pepper for dinner. And about 6 popsicles, and lots of water.

I sometimes have egg whites with a little bit of cheese and a few soft veggies cooked in for breakfast, and maybe a bite size piece of toast (no butter)...for lunch...1 fingerling potato (without skin) with cottage cheese on it...for dinner...2 oz of salmon. Sometimes I have soft fruit for lunch with a piece of turkey lunch meat.

I don't know exaclty how much I weigh right now, as I'm at my sister's. I walked four miles today and three yesterday...so, we'll see. I suspect I've lost 20 lbs. It will be three weeks on Wednesday. But, I may still be at 17 lbs., who knows?

It's hard to know what is "normal". I'm a bit like a man in some ways (so much muscle), so there are times when I lose really really fast because of it. There are other times (because I have metabolic syndrome and PCOS) when I lose relaly really slow. SO, we'll see. But, at least I know I'll get there...so it makes the "unkonwn" a little less scary and obsession creating as it can be when you don't have this tool.

Yeah, sounds normal to me and even still your taste

buds may change some more. LaWanda is correct in her

advisement. Purchasing protein can become costly. I

used on manufactured by Champion Nutrion and it was

great no problems and then my taste buds changed and

now I can't stand it. I was doing ISOPURE Zero but it

was okay and then I started having issues with gas so

then I cut out the drinks.

Well today, I tried the EAS Sport carbcontrol

chocolate and that did fine although I have to say it

was so sweet. I tried the protein bars and the first

one did me just fine and then the next two times, I

dumped (had severe abdominal cramping and was on the

toilet for 20 mintues) and so I don't eat those any

more. I would have part in the morning and part in

the afternoon. It could have been because of the

sugar alcohol. Not sure.

I am sorry I can't be of much help to you.

Another thing about getting the protein shakes down, that I have seen on

another list to which I belong, is that some like to mix about a teaspoon

of instant sugar free pudding in with their shakes. They say it makes them

taste better and makes them easier to get down. 's right, the

tiredness will pass. LaWanda At 06:56 PM 6/25/05, you wrote:

Thanks Lawanda and everyone else for their great advice on trying

things with the protein. I found one flavor of isopure that I can

manage to get down although it takes me quite awhile. I am also

going to order some sample through vitalady.

I sure appreciate all the help and will probably have a lot more

questions as the weeks go on.
