Oh, Joe! You are so wise!

I am 2 months post-op and I am delighted to say that I never regretted this

surgery. That is not to say that at 3 or 4 weeks post-op I wasn't wanting

reassurance that I would be feel like my old self soon! One thing that

helped me stay positive and focused was this list. I read for a year as a

pre-op and saw the cycle of " excitement of approval - fear of upcoming

surgery date - some regrets as an immediate post-op - excitement of new

life " . I decided to skip the regret stage since it was within my control to

do so. Of course I had no serious complications and that helps! I am

experiencing dumping now, but hopefully that will pass. Even if it doesn't,

I will not regret this surgery.

I cannot believe that I have lost 43.5 pounds in two months. I am getting

around so much easier. Life is a pleasure! My husband and I are having a

townhouse built (we hate yardwork) and we are selling our home. At the end

of last year I was excited about the new house, but I was freaking out about

how I would ever get the energy to get our current house ready to sell. I

was tired just walking up the stairs!

Well, our home sold last week after being on the market for two days and we

got $3,000 OVER our asking price. We were told that our home is immaculate

(and beautiful) and that is what helped it sell so quickly. I could never

have gotten it in the state it is without this surgery. I was washing walls

and painting trim and without much effort. Don't get me wrong - it was

tiring - but I physically could not have done it with an additional 43.5

pounds on me.

Thank God for this surgery and for those who lead me to this list to discover

the wonders of the DS.
