Hi all. Just a brief 7 week post-op update for you. My pouch is not

particularly happy these days and food intake is limited. It seems

it doesn't like anything these days, except good ole taco meat. I

eat 3 meals a day but sometimes its not much and sometimes it won't

stay down. I've added in 1 to 2 protein drinks because I was feeling

horrible and absolutely no energy. At least with the protein drinks,

I know I'm getting in some protein for the day, instead of maybe

only 10-20 grams when I only eat.

I've gone down 2 pant sizes, lot a lot of inches, and -34.5 pounds

since surgery, for a total of 72.5 pounds since orientation. I'm

doing water aerobics a minimum of times a week. I'd really like to

fast forward to 6 months out, when supposedly you are feeling more

back to normal but...I guess I'll just keep plugging along.

I had my 6 week post-op group appointment last week. I personally

thought it was a complete waste of my time. I made the mistake of

raising my hand and saying that I actually get hungry. Then came

the " talk " about head hunger, blah, blah, blah. I know the

difference and I know when I'm hungry and I physically start dry

heaving because I'm hungry and I need to eat. I won't do a group

appointment again. I'll stick to the one-on-one appointments.

Scheduling wise, those are easier anyway (with 3 kids).

Tina,

WOW! 7 weeks already! I can't believe it!

Thank you for thw update on you! Whenever I think that everything will be smooth after the surgery, I know there will be waves, and posts like this remind me of that!

Good job Tina. I'm 8 weeks out and I'm kind of having the same problems. Nothing ever sounds good and if it does I really only pick at it. I have one or 2 protein shakes a day so I can get my protein in. I went to my 6 week appointment last friday and was told the average weight loss right now is 3 lbs a week then after 4 months or so it should go to one lb a week. I'm down 22.5 lbs. They want us to have 75 grams of protein min right now at least thats what the nutritionist told me thats the reason I do the shakes. I still vomit also unless I only eat a couple of tablespoons of food. My surgeon told me to eat 6x a day to keep the protein up. What is your calorie intake like? Well stay positive things are going to get better everyone says they are.. Take care
