But that's my fault, not LDN's! I was very fortunate that my own gastroenterologist (in western NY State) was willing to prescribe it after I told him about it. He started looking it up on the Internet as we spoke, and came across the small but very positive study re: LDN and Crohn's done at Penn State. He of course knew I was (am) very drug sensitive and hadn't done well on the various Crohn's drugs I'd taken. And I reminded him of that. I had been to another doctor for an evaluation and he wanted me to start Cimzia, which I refused. My personal physician is also open to it, and to the SCD (I just saw him this week and he kept telling me how good I looked! I'm not used to a doctor telling me that. :-) (I've also lost a lot of weight, which I actually needed to, though I didn't need to lose as much as I have.)My husband is taking LDN for post-polio syndrome and he's getting it offshore without a prescription, as many people do when/if their doctor won't prescribe it. Actually, he's waiting for his neurologist to get around to looking into it, but he's taking it in the meantime and it has stopped the progression of his symptoms (he began it this spring). n-- I blog at www.ReformedRevelry.wordpress.com

I hate it that we have to resort to this because physicians "know better".But while this is the reality, I hope we're all taking the opportunity to educate any doctors we have among our friends and family about LDN. I've been giving some of mine to my cat - and I think it is helping him, but the non-verbal thing makes it hard to know for sure.
