Guest guest
This is something I did when I was doing the " Maker's Diet " , not too different from SCD, but enough for me to choose SCD. Anyways, that diet also starts out with a chicken soup for a few days regimen, and to make my soup 'richer' i would start simmering the soup real good in a medium sized pot and just pour a raw egg in it. I wouldn't stir or scramble the egg, just let it poach, and then when I put my soup in a bowl, there was the strong egg white flavor, and then the rich custardy yolk ( made sure my yolk was still runny. That's how I did it, it made a big difference in flavor. > > I've heard people suggest this, and it seems like a good idea. Guest guest
On Passover, my friend makes her 'noodles' for the chicken soup like this. Crack the eggs into a bowl, whisk with a fork and with one hand, slowly pour into the already boiling soup and with the other hand, stir the soup with a fork very slowly in a circular motion until the eggs turn into stringy noodles. The other way to make noodles is to make very thin crepes with an egg mixture and a frying pan. Then, take a stack of about 4 crepes, roll them up tightly and start cutting slices from the end. you will have a lot of stringy egg noodles. You can sprinkle with nuts and honey as a sweet snack... the noddles freeze well in zip-lock bags. When you want to use, put into the pot first, top with the soup, and boil. it will heat up in the soup and you will have yummy fluffy noodles!
