Guest guest
Kay I know the feeling of the smaller clothes, yesterday i had to buy some pants for work, i was on my way to Lane and cut through Sears, they had a sale, i never much liked Sears clothes but i passed by some cute things, well once a size 24 or 26 pants, I came home with size 16 pants that i can breathe in, the belt is extra long ( the belts never or rarely fit before) and my tops were size large not 3x 2x 1x or even XL.......this was a great feeling ! See what you have to look forward to ! Colleenspecialkmix2000 wrote: Hi Maggie!Isn't it just amazing HOW good you feel so soon after surgery?? I keep thinking the surgery was further out than it really was. It can't have been just two weeks ago? I also have (had) high blood pressure and diabetes (just for fun, lol). Since I have been home I haven't had to take either medication! YAY! In the hospital, they put those patches on me as well for blood pressure and they kept sticking me with insulin as well even though I wasn't on that at home. I took my blood sugar last night and it was the lowest I have ever seen it. 106! When I went on my diabetes medicine my number was 284!!! The dr was shocked I was still walking around. The blood pressure, highest reading ever was 154/102. Last night it was 116/69. I couldn't believe it! Which blood pressure monitor did you get? I have the automatic inflatable one that is by Armitron? It works great. I actually had it already since I was having to monitor my blood pressure at home anyway.Isn't it fabulous to not have to take as many meds? Just wait a few more weeks I am sure you will be off all meds, and you are going to be amazed with how much you can do. I crossed my legs for the first time in 5 years (???) a couple of days ago! The little milestones are going to start piling up! Before we know it, our former body lives will be a distant memory!I just tried on and bought my first set of clothes another size smaller. I am officially out of the 3x size! YAY! Down to a 22/24 in pants. That is from a 28-30. Whew!OH I had surgery 6/28 and have lost 20 lbs as of yesterday. Dr Baggs was my surgeon as well!!! Isn't he just THE best?? So attentive and nice? Did he take pictures of your surgery? He was really proud of the pictures he took of mine. I finally looked at them. I don't like blood and guts so it took me a long time to get used to the idea of looking at them. Pretty amazing. I have my follow up with him on the 21st. I will bring the pictures with me then and lots of questions! lolIt sure sounds like you are doing really well! Keep up the good work! This is the most exciting part of the journey, feeling better every day!Kay> > > Hi all,> > > Well they sent me home with a big bottle of liquid pain > > medicine...only > > > I just don't have any pain. Guest guest
Kay well i am soon to be 49 in november, so i do see veins bluer and darker in looks than ten years ago, but nothing big or bulging. I am five months out now. I am about 187 to 185 it flucuates and my goal is 145, i hope to get their by feb. and yes i remember as a kid both sears and wards, 3 dresses for ten dollar sales ! are we the same vintage/era ? but hey sears has liz claiborne now they are coming up in the world ! colleenspecialkmix2000 wrote: Hi Colleen!Oh that has to be exciting! Yay for you!!! size Large?? I haven't seen a size large in 25 years! Or size 16!!! That must have felt fantastic leaving the store with those new clothes. I hear you on the Sears thing. I think that is left over from HAVING to shop there when I was a kid. That and Montgomery Wards. Remember that place?I have a few girlfriends that only shop "normal size" stores and I can't wait to finally be included in their shopping trips! I can't wait to say bye bye to LB forever! So how far out are you from surgery now? Are you close to goal? I have noticed already there are huge veins popping out on the back of my knees. Ew. Did you have anything like that happen?Kay> > > > Hi all,> > > > Well they sent me home with a big bottle of liquid pain > > > medicine...only > > > > I just don't have any pain. Is this unusual? Can't wait to get there myself, even if I'm ancient when it happens and it very well may be with the way I'm losing weight so slowly. Enjoy wearing your new things! Guest guest
Colleen, I know the feeling. I just purchased a pair of pants, size 10 in the junior department. My regular 10s are loose so I am headed for size 8 and I am happy. I missed you not seeing you this time because I missed the Vacaville Meeting. I had a cycle from hell this month so I came home and slept. I did get off my rear and attended the Richmond meeting last night and I met Maggie and one other lady whose name escapes me (sorry). I am heading to do the Disneyland thing on Monday and will return on Saturday. I was hoping I would see Mrs. but she told me she was coming back on Monday (bummer).
