Guest guest
Alyssa Just catching up with emails, been offline for a few days (moving). Not sure if anyone has warned you, but carrots are high in sugar. I would stay away from carrots if I was also battling candida. Garlic would be good, unless your body isn't tolerant of it. But I'd find another way to eat or swallow garlic. I had a systemic candida overgrowth when I started SCD. Didn't touch a carrot for 2 years, until I had my levels back under control. Also couldn't tolerate antifungals of any kind, so no garlic or anything else helpful. Actually, my body has developed an allergy to beta carotene, so I still don't eat carrots very often [grin]. To get my candida levels back under control I just ate low-carb SCD for 2 years. Worked well for me, actually, as I didn't go through die-off stress, and also got my digestive symptoms under good management. Kim M. SCD 5+ years >>>>>>>>>> I was just looking at some stuff online about drinking fresh carrot and raw garlic juice to battle candida. Has anyone heard of or had any experience with this?Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa 15UC April 2008, diagnosed Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds except for the stupid iron pill I have to take that is SO illegal

I thought carrots were pretty high sugar too, so that's why I thought it was weird that it was listed as a candida remedy and wanted to check with you guys. I just swallowed my first clove of crushed raw garlic tonight, so we'll see how that does =) I already feel a headache coming on though, so I think an epsom bath will be in order for tomorrow!
